The Beautiful Surrender

I hope you all had a beautiful Easter and are enjoying your spring. Here the weather is still deciding what it wants to do, but I love seeing the buds on the trees and the grass turn greener and greener as the weeks go on. The season is changing and we can see it before our eyes.

I bought tulips before Easter since the deer ate all the ones I planted ha ha! Perks of living in the woods, right?! They are living their last days but as I looked at them the other day the one looking the most worn out caught my attention.

The white tulip, humbly bowing down. It says in John 19:30, "Jesus bowed his head and gave up his spirit," (This was on the cross when he died for our sins). Jesus humbly bowed before God and obediently did the will His father had for Him. Even though it was so so painful, He did what God wanted Him to do. He died for me, for you, so we can have freedom and salvation.

But are we bowing our lives before God? Are we bowing our agendas, our plans, our goals, all before our heavenly Father? Or are we striving with clenched fists and stiff backs not willing to bow, not willing to live the life God is calling us to?

God took me to Isaiah 45:2, "I will go before you and level the exalted places." He goes before us, He is marching before us, making a way when there seems to be no way at all. He puts all the pieces together in the most perfect way, in the most perfect timing. So maybe it's time to open our clenched fists and open our palms toward heaven and go the way He is calling us. To bow our lives and take the road Jesus is calling us on. He is calling you by name, (Isaiah 45:4) to follow Him.

The greek definition of the word bowed means complete, fulfill, bring to an end. (Strong's #5055)

So what does that mean?.... A bowed life is a complete life. A bowed life is a complete life. Jesus can't continue His work in us until we bow down to His will for our life. He can't fulfill our mission until we declared an end to following our own will, laying our old ways aside, and decide once and for all to follow Him.

So I challenge you today to humbly bow before God and give up what you think your life should look like. Give up where you thought you would be in this life by now. Give up the expectations you have for your spouse, your kids, your friends, or whatever you are struggling with being in control of - give it to God!!!

He is calling you by name ( Isaiah 45:4) He is calling you to bow your life and give up your spirit. Bow your life before God today so He can complete the mighty mission He is calling you on. Lets bow our life in surrender so we can ascend higher with Jesus, friends. He is for you, He is calling you!!

With much love,

Lynette
