September Thoughts…

The garden has come to the in-between. Most of the veggies are dying off, we pulled our potatoes, and the sunnies are all in a beautiful surrender. But the flowers, oh the flowers, are the most beautiful they have been all summer. The dahlias always wait to show there stuff in September and the cosmos have become their own little jungle. The zinnias are taller than I have ever grown a zinnia. But I have this pull- this excitement that fall is here. We have canned and preserved what we had and I snapped this picture of the fruit of our labor this weekend. How beautiful it is to preserve the harvest that God has blessed us with.
That we are able to preserve and enjoy what we have worked so hard for. This year I have really grown to love and enjoy cooking for my family. If I think about the food that we grow and hunt for it brings tears to my eyes. What a gift. What a gift it is to experience God’s gift of harvest and share it with my family.
But I want you to think about enjoying God’s harvest in the spiritual sense. His joy and love and peace that we can experience no matter the season, no matter our circumstances. We have access to God’s harvest. Now that is a true gift.
Even if you find yourself wondering why God has you on this path of life and why waves of uncertainty and pain keep crashing against you. Receive His harvest. Open your hands and receive in the hard times and the good times, the blessings He wants to give you.
Receive joy today. Receive peace today. Receive His love today. All these gifts are a gift from God. Without him we would be nothing and have nothing. But by His grace and mercy we are seen and held and loved today and everyday we choose to receive.
Happy harvest friends 🧡
