He Leads US...

Psalm 23. I am sure most of you have heard this scripture many times over. But The Word of God is alive and for that I am grateful. Even if you have read a scripture over and over again, The Holy Spirit can teach you new things about a verse you have memorized. So I guess what I am trying to say- don't block out a verse thinking you know all you could know about it. Keep an open mind and heart. God can and will show you and teach you new things.

So back to Psalm 23: 1-3

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul.

We recently came back from a family trip to the ocean. And I know the ocean is not still. It is always moving. But as I was sitting on the shore I felt my soul be still. Not because you have to be by a body of water to be still before the Lord. But being in God's presence makes your soul still. Being aware of God's presence. Not rushing and striving and over achieving, but breathing in a realizing God is in control. Our lives, much like the ocean, are constantly moving, constantly going from work to home, to school to after school activities, or whatever your season of life looks like.

Even in the midst of chaos, God can still meet us. Even when our kids are running around the house before the sun comes up shooting each other with nerf guns (that happens in other people's homes too, right?!) We can still sit with our bibles and be still with the Lord before we start our day.

Having a relationship with God and knowing God as our friend and savior, should bring peace in our lives. When the world is crashing down like it feels like it does so often. We don't have to run and hide in fear. We don't have to question how we will make it through. We have a good shepherd who is leading us and guiding us by HIS STILL WATERS. What a blessing. Where ever we are God will meet us and still our souls. We don't have to be by a still river, or the ocean, or in a church. He chases after us to lead us to Him. So we can experience the blessing of being still, in the school pick up line, at work, or washing dishes. And in His presence there is peace. In His presence our souls can be restored. In His presence fear flees. See why it is so important for us to find time in our day to sit before the Lord and quiet our souls and be still...

He will restore our weary souls. But we have to first be still before Him.

I pray, in Jesus name, that you will feel God's presence today. Whatever waves seems to be crashing over you may you be still and rest knowing that God has the waves under control. He has your life under control. You don't have to try and fit all the pieces together. He has GOT YOU. Rest knowing that you don't have to strive. Rest knowing that you don't have to make a spreadsheet to figure out your life. God is for you. He loves you. He just wants you to rest in His presence. AMEN

Be blessed friends,

Lynette
