But God!

I just came out from a walk to see my cows, above is Pepsi, one of our highlanders. We added a new family member to our little herd yesterday. A donkey! Everyone is still getting used to each other but Franny is her name, and she is the friendliest! I joke and say my cows and now donkey are like therapy to me. To get to the main pasture is a little bit of a walk so I enjoy the little journey.

So to be honest, I never thought I would ever own cows or a donkey or chickens or have a garden. But here we are and I love it!!!!

I laugh when I look back at my life. I wanted to wear stilettos and a suit to work everyday in a big city. Now I live in the middle of nowhere and blessed to be a stay at home momma and wife.

BUT GOD, BUT GOD, ONLY GOD!!! He changes our plans and our dreams because HIS ways are always better than ours! He knows what is best for us! He wants us to live the abundant life!

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

When our plans don't go the way we expected - it's hard. I'm not going to tell you that following Jesus is the nice paved highway that we thought it would be. Surrendering to the will that He has for your life can feel painful at times, right?

We have to trust Him and rely on Him when we don't know where He is taking us. After all, He is the Waymaker!

Just like this little space of the internet. I don't know where this will go or what God is going to do with it. But He is telling me to share. And as I press the publish button I get thoughts of, 'was that good enough?" I am sure the devil has whispered or maybe it feels like the devil screams that into your ears.

In the garden when Eve was talking to the serpent (the devil), about eating the forbidden fruit. The devil said, "Did God actually say, 'you shall not eat of any tree in the garden'?" Genesis 3:1

The serpent was trying to put doubt in Eve's head. He wanted Eve to think that God didn't know what was best for her. That God was keeping something from her. That God didn’t know the way.

So right at the beginning, the devil used that same line he uses today to try and get us not to trust the Lord.

But friends we have to overcome those thoughts, we have to rebuke the devil when he tries to convince us that we aren't good enough, God didn't call us, that we have made too many mistakes and God doesn't love us. Those are all lies.

I keep finding myself just speaking out loud, "I TRUST YOU LORD, I TRUST YOU LORD. I don't know where you are taking me but your plans are higher than mine!"

So lets trust the LORD with our whole hearts and our minds today and moving forward. Don't give the enemy what he wants. He wants you to live a life in fear and doubt and unbelief. God is wanting to mold our lives and take our lives to a higher place. But we have to be willing to go the way HE is calling us. Trust God with your plans, even if He is taking you somewhere you never thought you would go.

Friends, lets march on in the will God has for us. His ways are greater. His ways are higher. Let’s follow the Waymaker himself- that’s the safest place to be!

P.S. Just one more cow photo. Hope they make you smile.

Love,

Lynette
